Learning & Development Solutions
A large part of my job is creating realistic learning solutions. For a lot of my clients, time is the biggest impediment to their learning. However, time is such an all-encompassing word, and often involves work, life, and personal factors. But often neglected is the quantifier - "How much time?" Because that is key. When talking to my clients, they often jump ahead and state "I don't have 5 hours every evening/night to dedicate to this". Okay. But who told you that you needed to spend 5 hours doing it? I then quickly pivot the conversation back to their job and ask them how they feel if one of their workers or colleagues said the same thing to them. Would they simply resign to the same fate also?

We learn a lot in work over the years while are there and one of the biggest things we learn is how to do more with less time. The holy grail then being how do I make more with less effort ...
Less effort is not quite the term we should use in college and career life but we all recognise the sentiment -
What's the best way for me to get the most out of this without killing me.
That's the world of business, and yet lots of business people when they enter college forget every single aspect of their career and their skill set and decide to return to their leaving cert mentality of "how can I spend as much time as possible staring at the wall in front of me instead of the book in front of me".

Education is not a one size fits all shoe you have to force onto yourself.

There are other shoe sizes...

Try These on for size ...
In today's dynamic educational landscape, providing effective academic development services is crucial to nurturing student growth and ensuring their success. As an academic development specialist, I offer a diverse range of services tailored to meet the evolving needs of students across various learning contexts.

One of the foundational pillars of my services is supporting the e-Learning process through my thesis support and supervision service, which is much more hands on and facilitative than traditional supervisory relationships in college, as well as contributing to it through workshops, phone support, and through my YouTube channel and personalised videos and tutorials. These all provide students with flexible access to online content and resources, while allowing them to balance their work and homelife, both of which are key to enable their learning to grow through each stage.
Blended Learning represents another vital component of my approach, seamlessly integrating online learning with in-person sessions. This hybrid model combines the flexibility of digital resources with the invaluable benefits of face-to-face interaction and personalized support. For example, my workshops, supplemented by online assignments and readings, have not only catered to diverse learning styles but also foster a deeper understanding of course materials through active engagement. It has also fostered a deep sense of multi disciplinarity, as the classes are filled from people from different sectors and all walks of life and I encourage them to learn from one another and not to think as each sector existing in a vacuum, siloed and removed from the rest of the country’s core infrastructure.
To enhance learning efficiency and facilitate quick comprehension of essential concepts, Microlearning plays a pivotal role. By delivering short, focused learning segments through videos and handouts, students can effectively grasp specific information without feeling overwhelmed. This approach not only supports retention but also promotes continuous learning in manageable increments. My clients have taken these back to their jobs and found the learnings very transferable in their professional development.
Instructor-Led Training (ILT) further enriches the learning experience by offering targeted workshops and refresher courses. These sessions provide direct interaction with instructors like me, enabling immediate feedback, skill development, and practical application of knowledge. Professional development is hugely important and it’s my goal to get you to view the skills you learn in college are more than just some piece of paper you get at the end of it. Whether it's weekend classes focusing on core subjects or specialized skill-building sessions, ILT ensures students acquire competencies that are directly applicable in their academic and professional pursuits.
Mentorship and Coaching programs provide personalized guidance and support to students, fostering academic and professional growth. I’m on your side and I have your back. I’ve been through it myself and I survived, with learning! The holistic approach always works best, especially in this multi-disciplined world we live in.

In addition to these core services, I offer Academic Advising to provide personalized support in navigating academic requirements, planning coursework, and achieving educational goals effectively. This holistic approach ensures that students receive comprehensive guidance throughout their academic journey, empowering them to make informed decisions and maximize their learning potential.
